New Music Choir Wins 2018 Grammy For Best Choral Performance

The ECM New Series recording of Gavin Bryars’ “The Fifth Century” won the 2018 award for “Best Choral Performance” at the 60th Annual GRAMMY Awards in New York.

The album includes the seven-part title work, a setting of words by 17th-century English mystic Thomas Traherne, performed by the Philadelphia based new music choir, The Crossing with saxophone quartet PRISM, conducted by Donald Nally.
